CHRISTMAS PANTOMIME
Children’s Liturgy Outing
The St James’ Parish Children’s Liturgy Christmas Pantomime outing is on Saturday 12th December at 11 am in
Paisley Art Centre.  Consent Forms will be handed out to the
Children today and MUST be signed and returned by Sunday 8th November to confirm the booking.
 
FAIRTRADE STALL
There will be a Fairtrade Stall today after Mass.  Please come along and buy fairtrade goods, e.g. tea, coffee, biscuits, chocolate, breakfast cereals, etc., along with Christmas goods and cards.  Please help support producers in Third World countries by coming along to the Stall.
 
PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND
We are hoping to organise a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land in October 2016.  The cost of this would be approximately £1,500 per person.  If you would be interested in going on this Pilgrimage, please let Fr. John know.
 
MASS ATTENDANCE CENSUS
Next Sunday we will be having our annual census of people attending Mass.
 
DANCE NIGHT
The organisers of “The Shall We Dance Classes” at St. Columba’s Church Hall, are holding a Dance Night (Latin, Ballroom and Sequence) on Saturday 7th November at 7.30 pm.  The cost is £6 which includes a light supper, but please BYOB.  If you are interested, please contact Margaret Fender on 07908 788494.
 
CONCERT
On Friday 13th November, St Aidan’s, Johnstone will host a concert to celebrate and inaugurate our new organ.  The organist will be Michael Bawtree of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, an organist and conductor who has played and led ensembles from Mumbai to Paris.  There will be no tickets and admission is free.  There will be a retiral collection to help cover costs.  Following the concert there will be a reception in the parish hall, to which all are invited.  For more information, please phone 01505 320900.  Please come and celebrate our Parish!
 
WORLD YOUTH DAY 2016
The Diocese of Paisley Youth Office website is now open for registration for the World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland 2016.  Please visit http://rcdop.org.uk/world-youth-day-2016 for full details.  They are limited to 40 places on the youth pilgrimage and would advise you to book early to avoid disappointment.  (Age 16-35 only.)  Please contact Fr Frank Hannigan, St Paul’s RC Church, Brediland Road, Paisley. MATTHEW PINTO
Matthew Pinto will be coming to Paisley Diocese on Thursday 12th November to give a talk in St Mirin’s Church hall starting at 7 pm.  The talk is aimed at priests, teachers, youth leaders, catechists and keen and informed lay people.  The talk is free, but if you would like to go, please register on the website to confirm your place.  www.Catholicbibletour.com  Alternatively call the Diocesan office on 0141 847 6130.
 
RENFREW REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE
Sunday 8th November 2015 at 9.45am
If you can please come along. It is an opportunity to remember and to pray for all who gave their lives for our freedom. I will be presiding this year (Fr. John)
 
THE ICON OF OUR LADY OF PAISLEY
Will be arriving in St. James’ on Thursday 5th November.
It will be received at 6.30pm at a short service led by Deacon Denis Moore.
The Icon will remain with us for a week and each day the Church will remain open to enable us to pop in and pray. There will be a service each day as follows:
Thurs: 6.30pm Reception of the Icon followed by Mass
Fri: 7pm Mass for deceased parishioners
Sat: 9.30am Mass followed with Rosary and prayers to Our Lady of Paisley
Mon: 7pm: Rosary and Benediction
Tuesday: 7pm; Sung Evening Prayer
Wed: 7pm: Mass dedicated to Our Lady of Paisley
 
FLOWER ARRANGING DEMO
There will be a Flower Arranging Demonstration in St Columba’s Church on Friday 27th November at 7.30 pm.  This event is in aid of the Church Building Fund.  There will be a craft stall and home baking.   
Tickets:     £2 children; £5 for adults, which includes glass of wine, nibbles, tea and coffee.

SCIAF REAL GIFTS
SCIAF’s Real Gifts catalogue is available at the back of the Church, along with some Order Forms.  The catalogues contain a selection of Real Gifts specially chosen to give  comfort and cheer to Syrian Refugees.  If you would like more catalogues or information, please contact Rachel Lamb on 0141 354 5555 or email  rlamb@sciaf.org.uk
 
MARY’S MEALS
The UK Government has agreed to match fund donations made to Mary’s Meals from 28th September until 28th December 2015.   This means that a donation made during this period will be doubled.  So if you wish to support Mary’s Meals financially, from now until 28th December is a very good time to do it!
 
CHRISTMAS FAYRE
The date for the Christmas Fayre is Sunday 15th November .    It is that time of year again when we really need your help for our Christmas Fayre on Sunday 15th November at 12 noon. This year we need donations for Tombola, Bottle Stall, Home Baking, Groceries (not out of date), Toys (complete, not damaged), Books and DVDs (no videos). Unfortunately, we cannot accept electrical items or damaged goods that cannot be sold and please NO BRIC-A-BRAC.  There are bags at the back of the Church for you to take away and return your donations.
Thank you.  Home Baking can be brought on Saturday 14th November, or on the day of the Fete itself.  This is always a good seller—the more donations we have, the more we sell!!
 
MASS OF REMEMBRANCE:
On Friday 6th November, (this coming Friday), we are celebrating our Mass of remembrance for all our fellow parishioners who have died and in particular those who have died over the last year. Mass will begin at 7pm. Tea and Coffee will be available in the hall afterwards. Please come along.
