CHRISTMAS PANTOMIME

The St James’ Parish Children’s Liturgy Christmas

Pantomime outing is on Saturday 12th December at 11 am in

Paisley Art Centre.  Consent Forms MUST be signed and returned by Sunday 8th November to confirm the booking.  If you have not returned it yet, please speak to Fr. John.

PAISLEY SYNOD CATECHETICAL PREPARATION

The next round of catechesis starts this month.  The theme is the New Evangelisation.  The Bishop is holding Catechesis Evenings in each Deanery.  He encourages as many people as possible to attend the evening in their own deanery.

The dates are as follows:-

For Parishes:  all from 7.30—8.15 pm

Mon 23rd November  -  St Charles’, Paisley

Mon 30th November  -  St Aidan’s, Johnstone

Wed 2nd December  -  St John’s, Barrhead

For Families:  from 10—11.15 am

Sat 28th November  -  St Columba’s, Renfrew

 

KEEP FIT

St. James Church Hall:-

Fitsteps: Mix the graceful steps of ballroom with the up tempo steps of Latin to dance yourself fit! An energetic and effective way to keep active whilst having fun!

FERTILITY CARE TRAINING

Billings Teacher Training Course 29th September—2nd

October 2016 in St Ninian Pastoral Institute in Dundee.  It is hoped to recruit at least two trainees for each Diocese to enable spreading the message of the benefits of Natural Family regulation.  If you are interested please see your Parish Priest for further details.  There will be an information evening at the beginning of 2016 for interested parties.  There should be some sponsorship from the Diocese towards the training costs.

The Bible Alive for December is available at the back of the Church at a cost of £2.25p.

THE GLASGOW PHOENIX CHOIR

Presents:  “Christmas with the Phoenix and Friends” in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Friday 11th December at 7.30 pm.  Tickets:  £8/£10/£12/£14/£17  from Box Office Tel:  0141 353 8000.  This event is sponsored by the Co-operative Funeral Care.  Leaflets at back.

FLOWER ARRANGING DEMO

There will be a Flower Arranging Demonstration in St Columba’s Church on Friday 27th November at 7.30 pm.  This event is in aid of the Church Building Fund.  There will be a craft stall and home baking.      Tickets:     £2 children;

£5 for adults, which includes glass of wine, nibbles, tea and coffee.  Tickets are available from mid-October by contacting May O’Donnell after 10 am Mass or on 0141 561 1385

PRISONERS’ WEEK

15th—22nd November

MARY’S MEALS

The UK Government has agreed to match fund donations made to Mary’s Meals from 28th September until 28th December 2015.   This means that a donation made during this period will be doubled.  So if you wish to support Mary’s Meals

financially, from now until 28th December is a very good time to do it!

Trinity high School 's Interact Club holding a Coffee Morning in aid of APD India.                                              The event will be held in the Enable Hall, Renfrew on Saturday 21st November from 10am to 12. Entrance will be £1.50 for adults and 50p for children. There will also be a bottle stall, homebaking etc. (Donations are welcome!) All proceeds to the charity.

TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL

Trinity High is celebrating its 40th Anniversary with a Mass in the School on Tuesday 24th November at 7pm.
