CHRISTMAS FAYRE  -  THANKS
Thank you to everyone who helped in anyway to make the Christmas Fayre last Sunday such a success.  Thank you also to all who donated goods for the Fayre and raffles, without which there would have been no Fayre at all.
And, of course, thanks to all who came along on the day and spent your hard earned money and generally enjoyed the day.
The total raised will be notified next week.
 
PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND
We are hoping to organise a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land in October 2016.  The cost of this would be approximately £1,500 per person.  If you would be interested in going on this Pilgrimage, please let Fr. John know.
 
TUESDAY   MASS
Please note there will be NO Tuesday evening Mass in St. Columba’s for the next two weeks.  It will resume again on 8th December.
 
TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL 40th Anniversary Mass
Trinity High School will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with a Mass in the School at 7 pm on Tuesday 24th

PAISLEY SYNOD CATECHETICAL PREPARATION
The next round of catechesis starts this month.  The theme is the New Evangelisation.  The Bishop is holding Catechesis Evenings in each Deanery.  He encourages as many people as possible to attend the evening in their own deanery.
The dates are as follows:-
 
For Parishes:  all from 7.30—8.15 pm
Mon 23rd November  -  St Charles’, Paisley
Mon 30th November  -  St Aidan’s, Johnstone
Wed 2nd December  -  St John’s, Barrhead
 
For Families:  from 10—11.15 am
Sat 28th November  -  St Columba’s, Renfrew
 
ALL DAY CONFESSIONS
All Day Confessions for Christmas will be held in St Mirin’s cathedral from 9 am to 9 pm on Monday 21st December, with a half hour break for mass at 10 am and 1 pm.  There will be three priests every hour with continuous Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.  This is a great opportunity to
receive many graces in spiritual preparation for the Feast of Christmas.

NYCOS WINTER CONCERT
National Youth Choir of Scotland will perform a variety of music in the Cathedral on 9th December at 7 pm.  Tickets are available at the door.  £8 adult and £5 concession.  All welcome.

ALL NIGHT VIGIL
There will be am All Night Vigil at St Mirin’s Cathedral on Friday 11th December in honour of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe which is on Saturday 12th December.  From 8 pm Friday to 6 am (Mass) Saturday morning.
 
GIRL GUIDES ADVENT CAROL SERVICE
We are delighted to welcome Guides from throughout Renfrewshire who will participate in a Carol Service in St Mirin’s Cathedral on Friday 4th December at 7.30 pm.  All welcome.
 
DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO ROME
To mark the Jubilee Year of Mercy, a diocesan Pilgrimage to Rome is proposed from 25th—29th September lad by Bishop John Keenan.  With a direct flight from Glasgow Airport and staying within a short walk from St Peter’s, the cost of the pilgrimage will be approximately £550 per person, B&B, sharing a double room (single with supplement).  At this stage we are asking you to register your interest to ascertain if there are sufficient numbers across the Diocese to make firm arrangements.  If the pilgrimage has sufficient support, then bookings will be requested mid-December.  If you would like to register your interest in joining this pilgrimage, please contact Fr. SERVICES AT ST JOHN’S, BARRHEAD
You are invited to attend Vespers and Benediction, for the Solemnity of Christ the King, at St John’s, Barrhead, TODAY at 4.30 pm.
 
You are also invited to Mass for the Holy Souls on Tuesday 24th November at 7 pm.  This will include the Byrd mass for 4 voices.  Both ceremonies will be led by the Schola Benedicti.

MARY’S MEALS
The UK Government has agreed to match fund donations made to Mary’s Meals from 28th September until 28th December 2015.   This means that a donation made during this period will be doubled.  So if you wish to support Mary’s Meals financially, from now until 28th December is a very good time to do it!
 
WHATS ON FOR YOUNG ADULTS
John Deighan, Chief Executive of SPUC will be giving a talk on 'Building a Culture of Life'. The talk will examine the challenges to the right to life and what we can do to build a society which respects and protects life at every stage. Friday 4th December with 7pm Mass at St. Paul’s in Foxbar, 118 Brediland Road, Paisley, PA2 0HE. Mass will be in the oratory (round the back of the left hand side of the chapel house) followed by a talk in the chapel house.
